Shopify reports AI search boosting store traffic, not cannibalizing it — On its second-quarter earnings call, Shopify President Harley Finkelstein said AI has become a complement to search rather than a substitute, and the company reported AI-driven traffic and orders to its stores tripling year over year. Meta Ships Muse Code Terminal Agent Alongside Muse Spark 1.2 — Meta Superintelligence Labs released Muse Code in beta, a terminal coding agent for macOS and Linux, powered by its new Muse Spark 1.2 model. Meta says the agent handles repository-scale work using persistent "async background agents" and a local event log that lets sessions resume after a crash. My takeaway: Meta now has its own coding agent, Muse Code (currently in Beta). I wasn't able to find any third-party benchmark data at the time of this writing. On Meta's own self-reported numbers, Muse Spark 1.2 running in Muse Code lands roughly level with GPT 5.6 Terra(max) in Codex, but still trails Opus model. I think the persistent async background agent pattern is the more interesting part of the release and is worth evaluating for large monorepos.
