Models & Research
OpenRouter Lists a Free 1M Context Stealth Coding Model Called Ox Alpha — OpenRouter is hosting "Ox Alpha," a stealth reasoning model listed on August 20, 2026 from an anonymous third-party provider. The listing describes it as built for coding, sustained agentic work, and production workloads, with text and image input, a 1,048,576 token context window, and maximum output of 131,072 tokens. It is free during the preview. One provider serves it directly with no routing fallback, and the page shows 23 tokens per second throughput, 5.74s P50 latency, and 99.50% availability over three days. OpenRouter states it is not the developer or owner, and that prompts and completions are retained by the provider but not used for training under the Stealth Model Terms. Top traffic comes from Hermes Agent, Claude Code, and a DeepSeek harness. OpenRouter ↗
My takeaway: Based on tweets from developer Ben Davis, I was able to find a DeepSWE score for this mystery model, which came in around 63% on the full run. By checking this and other benchmark data by people, this model seems to match the top frontier models. OpenRouter has not named the actual model provider, but people have started predicting this model is a GML model (possibly 5.3). You can use this model for free during preview, but keep in mind that there are terms covering access, use and data training.

From a recent tweet, Thariq says the ELI5 skill is used by people at Anthropic. In my case, this can be very useful when I need to share technical detail with teammates outside engineers. For anyone who wants to try it, here are the commends:
